2010 National Night Out


Kingsport's National Night Out will be held on Tuesday night, August 3rd, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at the Allstate Insurance offfice at 1000 E. Sevier Avenue (where the old Douglass High School building used to be). It's an annual event deisgned to strengthen communites, by encouraging neighbors to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with local law enforcement partners.



The goal is to heighten crime prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs. Most importantly, it sends a message that our neighborhoods have organized and will fight back. National Night Out is the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors better.

In Kingsport, the event is sponsored by the South Central Kingsport Weed and Seed program, South Central Community Development. Corporate sponsors are the Target Corporation, Pepsi, Frit-Lay's, Little Debbie and the Allstate Insurance Company, Rikki Rhoten, owner.



Come out and greet representatives from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department, the Kingsport Police Department, the Sullivan County Health Development, Senior Citizens, Kingsport Boys and Girls Club, Big Brother-Big Sisters, Keeping Kingsport Beautiful, UETHDA, the Kingsport Public Library, KHRA, South Central Kingsport Weed and Seed, South Central Community Development Corporation. The Meth Awareness trailer will be on display by the Tennessee National Goard Drug Tak Force. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided by Target of Kingsport.
