Easter EGG-travaganza!

Hunting Easter eggs.. a mainstay for any community.

The Riverview neighborhood in Kingsport was no different on Easter weekend, as more than 80 people, most of them children, hunted for Easter eggs in the Douglass ballfield.

The event was held on Saturday, April 19th and was sponsored by the Riverview Residents Association, South Central Community Development Corporation and the New Vision Youth.

To make the hunt more exciting, prizes were given away and awards presented in a couple of categories.

Cordae` Moore collected the most eggs.. he's the grandson of Terry and Jeanne Moore. He collected 49 eggs, and won a brand new bicycle.

Malachi Smith holds the honor of eating the very first egg that he found. He won a food gift card from Mama's House Restaurant, a free dessert from Shoney's, a free meal from Applebee's, and a huge chocolate chip cookie from Subway.
