The second annual Youth Explosion 2009, “In the Spirit, Say Yes,” was held this past Friday and Saturday, August 7th and 8th.

The event at the Douglass Field and the V.O. Dobbins Center featured singing and praise dancing by local artists, groups and churches. The host singers were the New Visiion Youth Kids, directed by Johnnie Mae Swaggerty.
The event features free food and special guests including Transition, Kacy McClinton, Arron Howard, Unvailed Praise, J’Tia Williamson, P.O.G., Annointed, For His Glory, Hood Memorial Praise Team, Hale’s Chapel Praise Dancers, Shellé, Mr. Dell & the Holy, Sould-Out, The Karah Dance Ministry, VFL Praise Team, and Loleta Dukes Praise Dancer.
One of the highlights of the event, was the special presentation of a plaque to Ms. Pinkie Horton, one of the community's famed and most memorable singers. Money raised by the event provides scholarship money to deserving high school students, with the money given in Ms. Pinkie's honor.
The event was presented and sponsored by the CBS Alumni, directed by Lisa Williamson.
