KINGSPORT — Jessye Lee Welsh, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday (Jan. 5, 2009) at her home.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church. She loved volunteering her time helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Maggie Campbell Watterson; her husband, Elroy Welsh in 1995.
She is survived by her son, Walter Wagstaff of Kingsport; her granddaughter, Jacqueline M. Copridge of Wichita , Kansas.; great-grandson, Ashton Copridge of Wichita, Kansas.; brother, Richard Watterson and wife, Barbara of Johnson City; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church in Kingsport. Funeral services will follow with Elder Charles Hawkins officiating.
Entombment services will be held following the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
