MLK candlelight vigil set for Monday

• KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department and New Vision Youth will hold its fourth annual candlelight vigil Monday on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. The event, which will begin at 6 p.m. and last for about 45 minutes, will be held at the Riverview Splash Park Shelter on Martin Luther King Jr. Street. This year’s theme is “2009: A Year of Unity, Love and Support.” The public is invited to attend and to bring a candle. In the event of inclement weather, the vigil will be held in the V.O.
