LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE KINGSPORT TIMES-NEWS, jANUARY 15, 2007..
It seems the drug problem that left Riverview, is still plaguing our neighbors..
PLEASE SEE THE PREVIOUS ARTICLE ON HIGHLAND WHERE I SAW FIRST-HAND THE DRUG PROBLEM NOW THERE..
(TO THE EDITOR):
I am curious at where all our support went. We had a meeting in November with the police department at the Civic Auditorium. We had about 15 to 18 police officers there telling us that we were going to get the support for us to clean up Highland and to have community meetings to keep a handle on things. We left the meeting thinking things would get better and that we be having more meetings. We have tried to contact the police department and others that were involved. We found out that everyone quit the system except two officers.
The system went really hard a couple of days after the meeting, but then it dwindled out. So how are we supposed to have faith in our justice system when we are told things were going to happen and they didn’t? The code enforcer has to keep his word. So please give us what we were promised.
